Good hotel, very central in Bansko. The staff seem friendly, their English is very poor which can be frustrating at times. The food is shocking which seems to be the trend in Bansko, but you will find little restaurant gems here and there. There is a nice indoor pool plus a hot tub outside which was fun after a days skiing. You can rent all ski equipment from the hotel at a very reasonable price. The hotel is opposite a 24hr “British style” bar which seems to be one of the better places to eat. Our hotel room was big and the heating system was great. It’s certainly not the best but it’s clean and bright.

Stayed in Hotel Bulgaria Bansko in Jan 2008 our stay here was very enjoyable the hotel has great facilities including swimming pool and hot tub. The hotel has a laundry service and the rooms are cleaned daily to a very high standard, fresh bath robes and towels are provided daily.
There is an ATM across the road as well as a supermarket, the lions bar is also located across the road but no noise can be heard from it. The hotel is a five minute walk to the gondola and a ski bus is provided by the hotel if needed or to avoid the que at the gondola the bus will drop you up the mountain for a cost of 60lev for a 16 seater bus much better than standing in the que for gondola and only takes 20 minutes compared to an hour wait at the gondola either that or pick up a taxi near gondola for 40lev.
The only problem we had with the hotel was that the standard of english spoken by staff was fairly poor although having said this we did manage to get by, also the hotel is exceptinally hot almost uncomfortable. The rooms at the hotel are all nice all have balconies and nice bathrooms satellite tvs fridge/freezer and tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfast at the hotel was enough to fill the gap in the morning with a choices of hot or cold breakfast. Pancakes and omelettes are also freshly made to order.You can take or leave the evening meal it is served from 7 to 10 and was usually not great however it is so cheap to eat out in bansko that this was not a problem. Breakfast is also served between 7am and 10pm. The town centre is a 10 minute walk from the hotel but to be honest we didnt really venture that far as it didnt look the most friendly of places not that we had any problems. The hotel has a ski locker that you can leave boots etc in. For the most part our experience at Hotel Bulgaria was positive bar the language problems and I just wrote this to fill in the gaps on their website.

we spent the christmas holidays 2007 at hotel Bulgaria and all we can say is that we had an amazing experience. Great snowcapped slopes, friednly people, great atmosphere. we stayed in a great suite, great value. the staff were also extremely helpful, especially when we were trying to use our phone cards to call home for the holidays or we needed someone to give us some tips for the area. We didn't realize that the price of room incliuded both breakfast and dinner - great food too, brilliant hotel!
